Ann Fisher
Head Teacher
Ann graduated from New Canaan High School, Wittenberg University, with a BA in Early and Special Education, Antioch University McGregor, and a Masters in Educational Leadership. She also completed the Ohio Principal Licensure courses. She completed the ABA program through Penn State and has training in Orton Gillingham and Wilson approaches. She spent 20 years teaching students with special needs in New Canaan Public Schools. Ann is thrilled to be at FPNS where she can cultivate learning through play.
She lives in New Canaan with her husband and two daughters, both of whom graduated from FPNS. Ann loves to read, run, sail, and ski when away from the classroom.
Courtney de Kanter
Assistant Teacher
Courtney graduated from Trinity College and completed the Early Childhood Certificate Program in the spring of 2022 at NCC. Before joining FPNS, she spent 8 years as a Director of Admissions and coach at independent schools and worked at Horizons at Greens Farms Academy.
Courtney enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her friends and family. She lives in New Canaan with her husband, two daughters, and dog.
Katherine Megrue - Smith
Assistant Teacher
Katherine Megrue-Smith is a third-generation New Canaanite. She graduated from New Canaan High School and earned her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design.
Katherine was the director of the summer arts program at Moses Brown Private Day School while attending RISD. As a stay-at-home mom of four children, she started an arts program named smARTS, emphasizing the importance of creative thinking and self-expression for children. She also taught art classes to Prek-Grade 6 students in her painting and printmaking studio.
Katherine is working on Harvard University's Graduate School of Education's certificate program in Early Childhood Education.
