FPNS is a close-knit community of loving teachers dedicated to nurturing young children through play, exploration, and meaningful connections. We are a small, play-based preschool serving children ages 3-5, where each child is seen, heard, and celebrated for who they are. Our curriculum follows the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS) supporting the cognitive, social-emotional, physical and academic development of each child through hands-on experimentation, small-group learning, and discovery. At FPNS, we emphasize community, joy, and teamwork. We believe that children thrive in environments where they feel safe, valued, and free to express themselves, becoming more confident, independent, and curious every day. FPNS values our parents and they are an essential part of our school family. A strong home-school connection helps create a positive and nurturing environment where our students can succeed and feel supported every step of the way. First Pres is not only a wonderful early education for our kids, but also an incredible community for the whole family. My three children all currently attend FPNS and we couldn’t be happier with our experience! We are so grateful for the nurturing and stimulating environment that the teacher's provide. The teachers are incredibly patient, kind and attentive to the individual needs of students. The play based curriculum makes learning fun all while following NCPS curriculum to set our little learners up for success in future years. FPNS fosters a welcoming and supportive community, which is evident by Stacey Walker personally greeting students and their families every morning at drop off. The amazing playground and walkable proximity to the New Canaan Nature Center is just icing on the cake! We love FPNS!

FPNS is more than just a pre-school community, it is a family. I have been fortunate enough to send (and continue to send) all of my children to FPNS over the last decade. With each year, I am reminded of how special FPNS really is. The director and teachers go above and beyond every single day to provide the happiest, warmest and positive environment, all while creating a true love for learning. The teachers truly make learning fun and still completely prepare children for the next step.
