FPNS

First Presbyterian Nursery School

About Us

FPNS offers a play-based program that follows the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS). The required areas of cognition, social-emotional growth, and physical development are woven into fun, engaging activities that encourage experimentation, exploration, and small-group interactions where children thrive.

Our language and literacy, creative arts, mathematics, science, and social studies curriculum ensures our students are well-prepared for kindergarten. Our Four’s and Pre-K classes use the Wilson Fundations pre-K handwriting program, consistent with the New Canaan Public Schools. Our language and literacy, creative arts, mathematics, science, and social studies curriculum ensures that our students are well-prepared for Kindergarten.

Highlights include: daily music, weekly science classes, and field trips to our neighbor, The New Canaan Nature Center.

Charm and a classic nursery school experience meet today’s curriculum standards, where children play, laugh, learn, and grow with loving, experienced teachers.  FPNS fosters a strong sense of community and belonging, where parents and children form lifelong friendships.
